About
Photographer Trevor Graves’ first photo was published in ISM, one of the
sport’s early publications, when he was barely twenty years old—it was a
1987 shot of Noah Brandon and John Gerndt riding on his home turf at Nashoba
Valley, Massachusetts. Since then, Trevor has been a crucial part of telling
snowboarding’s story—traveling the world in search of snow; following the
storm for as long as it takes; capturing the spirit of progression; scouting
new talent; and speaking in a language of images. He’s widely respected for
bringing an element of true creativity to snowboard photography. If the
early 90s was an era of stock action photos, Trevor was off testing flashes
on the deck of the pipe in the icy New England night and shooting his crew
of East Coast compatriots like Todd Richards, Jason Ford, and Craig
Kelly—creating a pile of unique, atmospheric photos that stand on their own
even today.
In 1998, Trevor founded Nemo Design in Portland, Oregon along with
designers Jeff Bartel and Chris Hotz. This “little” design firm has outgrown
two different office spaces and can easily be called a creative hub of
Portland. Nemo provides services including, motion, web, photo, and
traditional graphic design.
