Through the end of April, we are featuring the work of Kieran Morgan in our Store gallery and Christopher T in the Photo Lab. Stop by both locations to check out the great work of these photographers.
From the artists:
A self proclaimed techie at heart, I began my love affair with photography with a simple need to know how stuff works. Anything that has a power button requires further investigation. I try to use both my artistic and technical angles when capturing anything. The lines in your face and the lines in your building both deserve the attention to detail I thrive on. My favorite subjects have always been people and I am very drawn to candid journalism with an editorial edge.
– Kieran Morgan
I loved rock n roll. I know it sounds cliche and trite, but it really is a truthful statement. I grew up in the Detroit area in the 1980’s and 90’s where a lot of bands were forever standing in the shadow of Iggy and the Stooges and trying to capture the raw energy of the legacy they left on the Motor City music scene. I first picked up a camera on a whim in my first year of college not knowing the impact it would have on my life. Shooting photographs helped me to be present and participate in the excitement that seemed to occur on a daily basis. These pictures are a small sampling of images from that time in my life when everything seemed dirty and shiny at the same time.
