The role of photojournalism is perhaps most noticeable in times of disaster. It is here that the importance of photography is realized, as images become a call to action to aid in relief efforts and potentially save lives. While several of our customers have traveled to Nepal to assist in the aftermath of the quake, Carl LaCasse of Vancouver, WA, was actually there when the quake hit. His experience represents a unique perspective on what it was like to live through the strongest earthquake Nepal has experienced in nearly a century, and his photographs tell the story of the chaos, confusion, and spirit of the Nepali people in the days immediately following the disaster.
