The Pacific Northwest College of Art’s Blues Student Photography Team with instructor Norm Eder documents every aspect of the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, which has raised millions of dollars for the Oregon Food Bank. The festival is Portland’s largest outdoor event, and is the third largest blues festival in the nation. This year in 2007, the festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary and will be the third year of the PNCA’s Photography team.
Pro Photo Supply, who provides Canon digital cameras and lenses with team training for each member, and custom printing of all the images for venues and gallery shows around the community sponsors the Blues Student Photography Team.

Pro Photo Supply / Kodak Grant
No one knew photographer Edward Weston better than Charis Wilson. She was 19 when they met and fell in love, igniting one of the great creative marriages of the 20th Century. She would be his model, his lover, his artistic collaborator, and eventually his wife. She would help him apply for and receive the first Guggenheim Grant awarded to a photographer so the he could continue his work. Together they would set off with a camera and typewriter across the American West during the depths of the Great Depression.
