A.H.C. 3rd Annual Photo Contest
Angels in the Architecture This year’s photo contest encouraged you to take the time to really look at the artistry in our built environment. Photographers of all sorts were invited to submit their images of architectural details they found imaginative, surprising, or eloquent that were in and on historic homes or buildings in the Portland area. Capturing the “angels in the architecture” you might miss if you were rushing too fast.

Adventure Photo Blog -Joni Kabana DRC Assignment
Roger Burks, a Mercy Corps writer, will be leading this quest for up close and intimate stories of internally displaced persons in encampments who are beneficiaries of Mercy Corps humanitarian aid.
Our scope will include:
- Households benefiting from food security programs
- Individuals and families receiving water from Mercy Corps
- Individuals, families and field officers involved in water, sanitation and hygiene activities
- Women who have built and are helping others build fuel-efficient stoves
- Households that have constructed kitchen gardens
- Children who were abducted or who have served as child soldiers, when appropriate
- Training of field staff in writing and photography
We will be stationed in Goma, with visits to camps located in Nyiragongo and Rutshuru territories.
