Customer Support & Rental Assistant

Reports to:  Pro Department Supervisor

Job Description

Purpose

  • Act as delivery driver for the Rental Department, Photo Lab and Pro Sales Team.
  • Serve as an assistant to the Rental Department Team.
  • The person in this position is a member of the Pro Department
  • All Pro Department team members serve as a resource for management to understand the issues and concerns that arise from supporting the professional and corporate photography/video markets. They provide input for the development and implementation of changes and improvements.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Delivery Driver

    • Deliver the store’s offering of photographic equipment and supplies to professional, corporate, government, medical and education clients
    • Check in daily with our Photo Lab and serve as their pick-up and delivery service as needed
    • Work closely with the Rental Department to facilitate delivery and pick-up of rental equipment to and from client’s locations
    • Serve as pick-up and delivery service for repairs.  All repairs are to be dealt with either same day or the next business day.
    • Maintain the daily Delivery Log and organize the paper work necessary to do each day’s deliveries. 
    • Organize and follow a maintenance schedule for the Pro Photo Supply delivery vehicle – fill with gas, keep car clean inside and out, let management know if the car has mechanical problems, provide gas/maintenance receipts to Accounting Department.
    • Answer, or relay to the Pro Desk, questions from professional and commercial customers regarding the entire range of photographic/video products and processes including cameras, color management, image processing, lighting equipment, inkjet printing and photo accessories.
    • Process orders received from professional and account customers that are submitted by dedicated phone line, fax, email and social media.
    • Keep delivery customers informed about company events, seminars and promotions. Work with Marketing on the distribution of promotional material.
    • Create invoices and collect payment from customers in the form of cash, check, credit/debit card or by charging the sale to the customers in-house account. The goal of every employee should be to perform these transactions without error.
    • Provide customers with accurate information regarding products and prices.  When complete information is not at hand, do everything possible to acquire the information in a timely manner.
    • Work with the Purchasing Department on special orders, special pricing, discounts and product availability.  Encourage special order sales in instances when requested items are not available in-store.
    • Provide a delivery and sales experience that exceeds our customer’s expectations for customer service and product knowledge.  Create long-term customer relationships.

    Rental Department

    • Keep assigned work area clean, including front-of-house, back-of-house, Event Center, sidewalk and parking lot.
    • Assist walk-in Rental customers by fulfilling orders, processing returns and answering customer questions
    • Assist rental customers with loading and unloading large orders
    • Assist the Rental Team with replying to emails and phone calls
    • Assist with teching rental equipment after return.
    • Work with Pro Department supervisor to maintain a correct inventory count.

    Employee Development, Training and Mentoring

    • Participate in One-on-One’s with the Pro Department Supervisor.
    • Attend Pro Department team meetings.
    • Attend Company Meetings.
    • Seek out information and learning opportunities in areas relating to the company’s business.
    • Share your knowledge and expertise with new employees.

    Other Responsibilities

    • Maintain a high level of professionalism in manner and appearance.
    • Get to know team members in all departments, developing trust, establishing credibility, encouraging teamwork and creating an atmosphere of open respectful, honest two-way communication.
    • Attend departmental and company meetings.
    • Familiarize oneself with the organization and the Employee Handbook.
    • Seek out information and learning opportunities in areas relating to the company’s business.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Be able to act as an effective resource for technical and product information for the company’s professional clientele.
    • Must be familiar with Portland Metro area and be able to quickly learn our customer’s studio locations.
    • This position requires a beginning to intermediate level of knowledge of photographic equipment & supplies and a good driving record.
    • Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.

    Front-End Web Developer / Graphic Designer

    Reports to:  Marketing Supervisor

    Job Description

    Purpose

    • To continually increase the value and visibility of Pro Photo Supply to all targeted segments of the photo/video/filmmaking market, as well as to the entire local community.
    • To embody and communicate the company’s Mission, Vision and Core Values to the public and to all Pro Photo Supply team members. 
    • To assist the Marketing Supervisor with creating and implementing an overall Marketing Strategy that promotes Pro Photo Supply as a company that exceeds our customer’s expectations for service, quality and community involvement.
    • Create relationships, not just sales.

    Qualifications

    • Must have strong knowledge of HTML and CSS coding, with some working knowledge of PHP and WordPress. Knowledge of JavaScript, Shopify development and G-Suite is a plus.
    • A strong background in design with working skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign on the MAC platform.
    • Knowledge of domains, hosting and DNS is a plus.
    • Education or work experience in the photography field is essential.
    • Must be able to juggle multiple projects and have ninja-like abilities in problem solving and time management.
    • Experience in the development and production of marketing materials for digital and print.
    • Copywriting skills a plus.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Website

    • Work in association with the Marketing Supervisor to design, create and maintain the company’s web site.
    • Aid in search engine optimization.
    • Participate in the analysis of the performance of key terms, website traffic and conversion rates.
    • Develop web site links with manufacturers, suppliers, customers, professional organizations and others.
    • Assist in developing online lead generation tools.

    E-mail Marketing

    • Design, develop and implement email marketing campaigns utilizing MailChimp.
    • Email list management.

    In-Store

    • Design and produce printed in-store sales ads and displays, including floor banners, POP signs and digital content for monitors.

    Events

    • Assist when needed in the staging and staffing of both in-store and off-site events, including set-up or take-down tasks.
    • Lead or assist in the design of assets for social media, marketing and PR communication related to events.

    Other Responsibilities
