Lab Gallery for September 2023: Wrestling With Film by Mick Koontz

Artist Statement  

Hi I'm Mick and I'm a photographer, a musician, the Supervisor of Pro Photo Supply's Photo Lab, and a lifelong, avid fan of Professional Wrestling.  I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana but have been a Portland resident for almost twenty years now and in that time I've grown to love our local independent wrestling scene.  Over the last six or seven years I've been attending shows and bringing my camera(s), mostly digital, with me and sharing the results on my Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.  Lately, I've challenged myself to shoot on film instead and I'd like to share the results of that challenge from the first four months of 2023, all captured on film.  It's been a fun new challenge for me to adapt my style from digital to film but I'm really in love with the results and hopefully you will be too.

Koontz captured this work using a Nikon N80 with Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8g VR, Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8g VR, and Nikkor 50mm f/1.8d.
