This year’s photo contest encourages you to take the time to really look at the artistry in our built environment. Photographers of all sorts are invited to submit their images of architectural details they find imaginative, surprising, or eloquent that are in and on historic homes or buildings in the Portland area. Capture the “angels in the architecture” you might miss if you were rushing too fast.
Winning entries and seven Honorable Mention photographs will be unveiled at the Central Eastside Arts District First Friday Art Walk on September 5th. The entry deadline is August 16th.

OHS received over 2,200 photos for the 2008 Fuzzy, Furry & Feathed Friends Photo Contest -- the largest number in the event's 17-year history.
The 2008 Grand Prize went to Chris Pokorny for his photograph of Zoey. The picture of Zoey basking in the sun at Canon Beach is a wonderful image of big, wet, blissful dog.
