Nine Zines Gallery Show: A call for submissions

Zines are a popular form of DIY publication embraced by many artists both amateur and professional. Often zines mix media to tell a story through a series of images, poems, collages, or even textures. “Nine Zines” is a collection celebrating the DIY spirit of any and all interested creatives. Selected zines will have a spread from their zine printed and displayed in the photo lab gallery. Attached to this spread will be a QR code where viewers may digitally access the selected zines in their entirety.

Often zines mix media to tell a story through a series of images, poems, collages, or even textures. “Nine Zines” is a collection celebrating the DIY spirit of any and all interested.   • Image files must be submitted in JPG format.
  • Each file may not exceed 5MB in size and should be approximately 1500 x 2100 in jpg format only.
  • Each contestant may submit up to 10 digital images total with a minimum of five pages including the cover. OR a physical copy of the zine. We do not need both
  • Please include a project statement or goal
  • Zines should be photography and mixed media based
  • Physical submissions welcome, mail or drop off to photo lab 1815 NW Northrup St., Portland, OR 97209, post date no later than april 30th
  • All files must be labeled with your first and last name. ie: firstname.lastname001.jpg
  • All entrants are required to fill out the online submission form. You can access the submission form by clicking 'Submit Photos' below
  • Photographs will be accepted only from the original photographer who must be the sole author and owner of the copyright for photos submitted
  • Photographers will retain original copyrights to their photos.
  • Entrants and selected Zines grant Pro Photo Supply permission to use their photo(s) in any publication, marketing, editorial or fundraising materials, on Pro Photo Supply’s website(s) and social site(s) for promotion of the gallery. All photos used will receive credit where allowed.
  • Failure to publish a credit due to error or oversight shall not be deemed a breach of this condition.
  • All finalists will be notified mid-May and be required to resubmit their Zines image(s) in a 300 dpi JPG format, no smaller than 8x10/8x12 inches (2400 x 3000 pixels)
